[Exclusive] Super Junior will Marry U Day! Posted: 24 May 2010 12:08 AM PDT Super Junior should feel “sorry, sorry” no more as their Filipino fans showed their endless love for their “midnight fantasies.” On May 8, Universal Records and Super Junior United Philippines (SJUPH) organized an event called, "Super Junior Will Marry U Day" to celebrate Super Junior's Vol 2: Don't Don Repackaged Album Launch in the Philippines on the same day. The event gave fans who purchased the album the chance to marry their favorite SJ member, get freebies (posters, bookmarks, call cards) and to take pictures with SJ members' standees. They also gave out Super Junior Philippine-released albums to lucky fans. Hundreds of fans queued outside the 3 participating record bars (in which the standees were randomly and strategically placed) as early as 7:00 in the morning to purchase the album and to join in the fun. Some fans even took a break from their vacation abroad just to be present at this event in the Philippines. The record bars designed their own garden wedding-inspired booths, complete with flowers and also TV screens that played Super Junior MVs and performances. One of the record bars even used the mall lobby for the wedding booth. Fans, boys and girls alike, were treated as real brides as they were given a choice to wear a veil and hold a bouquet during the photo op with SJ standees. Gabbi Lim, a Dong Hae fan, even wore a white dress made just for this event and she even brought her own bouquet and veil. Not only they were given the chance to take photos with their SJ grooms, they were also given certificates of marriage which were signed by Super Junior United Philippines – Core Team as witnesses. "The Super Junior Will Marry U Day" was deemed successful as hundreds of fans participated in the event, purchased the album and everyone had a great time. The event was made much more successful as Super Junior's Don't Don album sold more than 800 copies in the 3 participating record bars on the first day of its release (in the span of 3 hours), adding it to the strings of number 1 Super Junior albums in the Philippines, making the 4 Super Junior albums (Vol 3: Sorry Sorry, Super Junior-M "Super Girl", Super Show 2 Concert CD and Vol 2: Don't Don Repackaged) released in the Philippines no. 1 on the day of its release, breaking and setting the standards in the KPOP wave in the Philippines. Kudos to Universal Records, Super Junior United Philippines and of course, the fans, for making this event and album a success. With just a massive success with their comeback album, Super Junior (even with missing members) still continue to dominate hit charts whether in Korea or overseas. Watch out Philippines! LeeTeuk and HeeChul’s Heartfelt Words Towards HanKyung Posted: 23 May 2010 11:00 PM PDT Although Super Junior is experiencing much success with their new single, BONAMANA, it is hard to ignore the emptiness created by the absence of three members. But recently, Super Junior finally spoke out about their beloved HanKyung! With their new album and comeback, idol group Super Junior has been promoting with only ten out of its thirteen members. KiBum is busy with his acting career, while KangIn is preparing for his enlistment in the army. The third, and most controversial, is member HanKyung’s situation. Back in December, HanKyung filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment and since been cut off from all communication with his fellow members. One of the members most deeply affected by this ordeal was HeeChul. It was common knowledge to netizens and fans alike that HeeChul and HanKyung shared one of the closest friendships in Super Junior. They lived in the same dorm and had a whole collection of photos together on HeeChul’s minihompy. Fans affectionately dubbed them the “HanChul” couple. HanKyung’s departure left HeeChul deeply mourning the loss. “I was in a big chaos. It was difficult for me to laugh on TV and dance on stage,” he says. “I had some lingering emotions. Since I did not meet any people, depression got worse. I had lived with HanKyung, drinked together and was really close. It was mentally difficult.” HeeChul has since recovered slightly from his depression, stating “Because he's a friend, I despise him, feel sorry, upset. Even though I have many mixed emotions, I've become better now. I told HanKyung to come over when he gets married." HeeChul is not alone in his sadness. Leader LeeTeuk also spoke out about HanKyung’s absence. “Because we were always together, I think we forgot that he was a foreigner. We should have talked a lot but because we were busy we didn't get to communicate often. It must have been difficult for him to have made that decision. I feel sorry.” HeeChul also had other wise words for the public. He revealed that what he “learned after experiencing this is that we have to treat each other well when they are with us. We were able to feel the members' preciousness.” LeeTeuk added to HeeChul’s advice by saying, “I think we are working harder to fill the empty spaces of other members. There's always a place for them. They just have to come back. We are going to work harder so that when they feel that they want to come back, they would be able to come back without any burden.“ With such love for all its members, we know Super Junior will be able to persevere through this ordeal! Leeteuk, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Yesung and Sungmin are however the only Super Junior members featured for this special song as they go onto the streets to cheer for South Korea’s success at the upcoming 2010 Fifa World Cup. Chae Yeon Fighting style: Body checking waves. Watch out for those hips. Wonder Girls are Reunited… for Dinner! Posted: 23 May 2010 09:59 PM PDT The Wonder Girls‘ very own Yubin updated her Twitter with some exciting news: some of the girls have reunited with on-hiatus member Sunmi. Ever since her departure in February 2010, little was heard about Sunmi, except the stellar news that she passed her GEDs! So it’s great news to hear that the Wonder Girls, currently re-stationed in Korea, are still thinking about their 4-D alien! On the 23rd, 24th in Korean time, Yubin tweeted, “oh~ and yesterday Yenny,Sohee and I met MIMI!!! >a< we ate dinner together~” showing off their tight-knit bond. Although it’s a shame that leader SunYe and new member HyeLim weren’t able to be in attendance, it’s great to see their connection going strong. Shindong wants to get married this October! Posted: 23 May 2010 09:37 PM PDT As you may recall, Super Junior’s Shindong proposed in code language to his girlfriend in the “Thanks To” section in Super Junior’s fourth album. It looks like he’d like to get married in the next few months! The idol revealed more details about this matter during a recent press conference. He said, “I’ve already met with her friends and they know we’re dating. Honestly, I want to get married in October.” Shindong also talked about how his girlfriend has been avoiding him since the proposal. From Controversy to Bromance? Posted: 23 May 2010 09:10 PM PDT Okay, so maybe not BFFs but it sure does seem like the Flo Rida plagiarism controversy that once plagued G-Dragon and his hit single “Heartbreaker” is now water under the bridge, so-to-speak, between the two artists. GD looks so cute when he tries to look hard. Awwwwww. As we mentioned months ago, not only did the two eventually collaborate on a remix version of the song, but there was also much speculation (and later confirmation) that G-Dragon would make an appearance at Flo Rida’s first ever concerts in the good ‘ole Daehan Minguk. Flo Rida held his Korean concerts this weekend on the 21st and 22nd at Yonsei University and sure enough, GD made an appearance and all the fans in the audience went wild. Don’t believe me? Debuting with 10 out of 10, 2PM met mediocre success, but with Again and Again, 2PM received overwhelming popularity. With the official departure of Jaebeom from the group, 2PM has encountered another low while continuing to maintain a certain extent of popularity. In June, 2PM will tour with the Wonder Girls in the United States for the first leg of the tour. Meanwhile, in July and August, 2PM will hold their first solo concert. They will hold two concerts in the Olympic Sports Stadium in Seoul on July 31st and August 1st. After, they will hold two more concerts in Busan at the Bexco on August 7th and 8th. [news] 2PM and Super Junior top televised music shows Posted: 23 May 2010 08:50 PM PDT Korean boy bands 2PM and Super Junior ranked number one on televised music shows over the weekend. 2PM claimed their second consecutive Mutizen award on SBS' Sunday music program "Inkigayo" with their single "Without U" while giving out the top spot on KBS' Friday live show "Music Bank" to Super Junior who recently made a comeback with a new song titled "BONAMANA". The groups were up against other singers such as Rain, Davichi and Gummy on both shows. For their performance on Inkigayo, six-man band 2PM was one member short due to their main vocalist Junsu recovering from a knee injury. They have been enjoying a successful comeback to the local music scene however, with the song from their latest album “Don’t Stop Can’t Stop” which has topped cable music channel Mnet’s “M! CountDown” for three weeks straight and “Music Bank” for two weeks in a row. The trio showed their support to their colleague, T-ara's EunJung, who is one of the main casts of the drama by participating in the OST project. The title for the OST will be 'Coffee Over Milk' and will be used as EunJung’s theme song, which gives a fresh, upbeat, and lovely feeling. The song is expected to be released on May 25th on the music portal site Melon. 'Coffee House' drama is a new series on SBS, replacing 'Oh My Lady'. The drama features Kang JiHwan, Park SiYeon, Han EunJung, and Jung WoongIn as the main casts. Airing every Monday and Tuesday, the first two episodes provided a hilarious vibe to the viewers and hence, garnered attention. The first episode received 10% viewer ratings, showing a favorable start. SG Wannabe’s Lee SeokHoon first solo album is looking very promising.  Being a member in one of Korea’s top groups, there is a lot of pressure on SeokHoon as he ventures out on his own. His teaser for his title track Station already received many views. A spokesperson from his company states, “Preorders were approximately 30,000, but there was another 10,000 that was added from the request of the distribution industry. We are going to be looking forward to many more good things, as he is going to begin promoting his album soon.” That is very great news for all you SG Wannabe fans out there! FT Island held a showcase at May 22 and 23 at the Serre Plaza Osaka, Tokyo where it was only planned to hold about 2,500 people but over 5,000 fans showed up and gave their support to FT Island. At the 23rd, they had a concert in front of the fans, despite the rain, the fans still cheered for FT Island and stayed for the event. On July 31st and August 1st, 2PM will be the main acts of this anticipated concert at the Seoul Olympic Park Arena. Then on August 7th and 8th, they will perform at the Busan BEXCO. It’s been two years since they’ve debuted but they’ve only performed on music programs and at small events or concerts as opening acts.
