| Nam Gyuri transforms into a barbie doll Posted: 17 May 2010 11:38 PM PDT Nam Gyuri has been chosen as a model for a famous Japanese make-up brand, Kiss Me, and the concept for the photoshoot was to be a cute doll. The photos show Nam Gyuri pampered up in delicate make-up, and they prove just how well she fit the whole doll-like concept! A representative of Kiss Me make-up stated, “Nam Gyuri’s doll-like features and eyes were appealing to Kiss Me’s clients, and we are hoping to appeal to a more diverse group of clients.” The photoshoot photos will be revealed online and on magazines in May. On another note, Nam Gyuri is currently starring in SBS‘ drama, Life is Beautiful.

Have anyone of you seen someone who looks like Sandara Park, the member of 2NE1 at Myungdong? Guess what? If it happened to be on May 16th, the girl was the real Sandara Park! Sandara Park, known as Dara, revealed some cute pictures of her having fun shopping in Myungdong via her personal me2day page. She wore no makeup and went to Myundong to do her weekend shopping freely. With the three uploaded cute pictures, she also wrote funny and cute captions. For the first picture, Sandara wrote, “Today I had a self-apple hair style but it only looks pretty if you look from afar“.
For the second picture she wrote, “I came here to buy some cosmetics when I saw this girl who looked exactly like me! You’re pretty good looking”.
For the final picture Sandara wrote, “There are so many people here at Myungdong, but no one recognizes me. I guess that means I’ll be able to look around some more”. In this picture, Sandara is seen among many people in a popular part of downtown Myungdong. While holding a shopping bag in each hand, Sandara is seen with a big smile on her face. Possibly, according to a new article by Yoo Myung Joon from Nate News: ? Wonder Girls… 4minute ‘challenge; The Wonder Girls opened fire first. On the 26th they released "Two Different Tears" simultaneously all over the world for the first time in a long time. The reaction was amazing. Even the 2PM situation and claims of unfair treatment of the Wonder Girls didn't get in the way of releasing their song online. The Wonder Girls releasing an album for the first time in a while and the anticipation for their activities in Korea with JYPE handling Wonder Girls' activities separately, they will have no problem taking the winning place during May's girl group battle. However, the challenging group 4minute aren't a group to be overlooked. Last year when they debuted in June, they were overlooked in the music industry and labeled as 'fake 2ne1' and 'HyunAh's group.' However, within 9 months they became one of the top girl groups. They even reached the Japanese and Thai markets and received international attention. Leaving aside the battle, the Wonder Girls, a group that traveled to succed in America after they were Korea’s top girl group, and 4minute, a group that debuted less than a year a go, but is going strong, will be interesting to watch as they progress ?2PM-BEAST 'Girl Group Support' The Wonder Girls and 4minute battle also involves the boy groups of the separate companies, 2PM and BEAST, two boy dance groups that are walking in similar footsteps. Wonder Girls and 4minute, as a senior group and a junior group, have support from the boy groups. On the 16th, 2PM held a launch event to thank and greet the Wonder Girls' fans and in Thailand, Nichkun's brother Nichan was the MC at the Thailand Wonder Girls event. Wonder Girls will return to Korea for two weeks after their launch event to participate in activities and 4minute will release a new album through an online site on the 19th. The article appears to be banking on a Wonder Girls/4Minute rivalry, but considering the closeness of the two entertainment agencies, not to mention Hyuna’s involvement in both groups, I have a feeling this may be one instance where the fans won’t be baited. In fact, a collaboration between the two groups may be more likely, and would certainly be more exciting. The ultimate winner in all this? JYP (and Hong Seung Sung I guess). In a post titled, “It’s Nice~~,” Seulong uploaded a selca of himself in sunglasses and wrote, “I was excited because I was out.” In response to this picture, fans posted, “I was wondering why you were so excited, but thanks for the update,” and “So handsome.” Seulong also visited the set of Korea’s huge hit drama Dae Jang Geum and took comical pictures of himself. What do Koreans love? Soccer! Especially the World Cup–it’s simply madness. When it comes to team spirit and national pride, whooo boy, S. Korea’s tough to beat. So it’s no surprise that Kpop artists left and right are coming out of the mill with their World Cup cheer songs. My current favorite in terms of zeal will have to be Super Junior. Well, 50% of them at least–Leeteuk, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Yesung and Sungmin. Yup, half of the currently active members of SuJu came together for their own World Cup cheer song, ‘Victory Korea’. There’s a reason he’s the most sought-after man for variety shows – Rain appeared on the May 17th episode of Come to Play, skyrocketing the show to first place in its time slot, garnering the Come to Play its highest ratings ever at 16.3 %. Behold the power of Rain (and well-sculpted abs)! Following are three tidbits from the widely watched show:
Episode 1: Rain surprised the guests, “I’ve had no girl friend for 4 years.” During MBC show program ‘Come Over And Play’ aired on the 17th, where Rain, his close friend ‘Kim Kwang-Min’, singer ‘Son Ho-Young’, singer ‘Lee Hyo-Ri’ and so on appeared as guests, Rain said, “My ideal type is a nice and sexy woman who has a dual personality, in other words, she is usually modest, but looks so sexy at some time. So I’m a fool to love such a woman.” When he was asked by MC when he had a date with his girl friend last. he answered, “I dated my last of her 4 years ago.” which surprised the guests. Rain’s close friend ‘Kim Kwang-Min’ who knows well about Rain’s love story, agreed with what Rain was saying, by nodding, “He is right.” Episode 2: Rain continued to go on, “Once, I missed my step and fell down the stage during my concert in Hong Kong, so I even blacked out right after the accident at that time, nevertheless, I finished my concert without any mischance. After that, I was told to have slight concussion and to fracture my arm.” And, in addition, he said, “I was on the plane flying to Australia for my concert and it nearly killed me. I always wore my seat belt, but I wonder why I wasn’t wearing it that time. I can see why variety shows are so eager to snag this guy – other than the astronomical popularity – Rain has been around this block quite a few times before and is able to maneuver these interviews with maturity and charisma, in addition to allowing fans a certain openness in his demeanor and insight into his personality. Throw MBLAQ’s cute but bumbling Joon into the mix, and you’ve got one entertaining interview on your hands.

On the 12th, the star teased people on a show with information regarding her solo promotions. On the 18th, she was going to release mini album LOV-Elly but it looks like it’s getting postponed. Seo In Young’s company Star Empire said, “Since it’s her first album in two years, she’s putting a lot of effort into it herself. She wanted to change up the album design. | [NEWS] Over 3,000 fans freeze Hongdae for 2PM’s X-Concert Posted: 17 May 2010 09:21 PM PDT  2PM’s surprise concert froze the streets of the entire Hongdae district. 2PM was the first star to appear on tvN’s music show ‘Newton Street Concert, X-Concert’ and had promoted the guerrilla concert on Junsu and Khun’s twitter until the 15th. Over 3,000 fans came together from various parts of the country, once again confirming 2PM’s explosive popularity. Fans began appearing one by one 5 hours before the concert at 4 PM and completely filled the entire front section of the concert. There weren’t even enough seats that some fans could not enter, instead having to fill out into the sides and into the streets, completely paralyzing the streets of Hongdae. 2PM came up on stage and stated, “We didn’t think so many would come,” and expressed their thankful feelings. They sang ‘Without U’ and moved on to ‘Don’t Stop Can’t Stop.’ ‘Don’t Stop Can’t Stop’ in particular had a special performance prepared by the fans hours before utilizing their white handkerchiefs. ‘Newton’s’ MC Gil made a surprise visit midway through the concert and hugged 2PM. 2PM’s concert will be released on the 7th next month. | 2PM is feeling under the weather Posted: 17 May 2010 09:06 PM PDT Wooyoung, Nichkhun and Junsu of 2PM didn’t seem to be in a great state of health when they visited Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time on the 17th. After their visit, pictures of the boys were uploaded on the show’s online bulletin board. We all know Junsu hurt his knee and Wooyoung hasn’t been singing live because of his vocal cord nodule injury. But it looks like there are more problems – eagle-eyed netizens noted that Nichkhun and Wooyoung looked visibly exhausted and their skin seems to be getting worse as well. It looks like he had a really new hairstyle. From the picture, his hair looks blonde and it suits him pretty well. His body looks pretty masculine and he looks perfectly ready to come back. Davichi scored their first win on the music chart, stepping up a slot from the previous week, pushing former week’s winner Gummy down the chart. The new single by the two songstresses “Time, Please Stop,” from the group’s mini-album “Innocence,” has topped several online music charts since its release on May 6. R&B quartet Brown Eyed Soul entered into the singles chart with their new song “Love Ballad” in the runner-up spot and CNBLUE’s recently released tune “Love Light” followed behind in third place. Meanwhile, male duo Vibe rose to the top of the albums chart with their fourth album “Vibe in Praha” to claim the title as the best-selling record last week. Davichi maintained its position in second place with their mini album “Innocence,” while Gummy’s first mini-album “Loveless” dropped two ranks to No. 3.

Both Luna and Hyerim were attending at Seoul Arts High School and they majored in Music in that school. Luna also praised HyeRim because when they were still in school, in their practical exam, Hyerim passed with excellend grades and also admired Hyerim to be fluent in 4 different languages.

According to DSP media, Kim Hyun Joong was involved in a car accident last May 12 at Joong Gangnam in the afternoon and he was with his friends. He got injured in his right rib and suffered bruises and abrasions. Agency officials said, “The injuries are mild, Kim Hyun Joong is okay and he will be performing at the dream concert as scheduled”. SS501 will be taking part in the Dream Concert in May 22 at the World Cup Station. SS501 will be releasing a new album soon and since Kim Hyun Joong is injured he will be performing a ballad since he is in no position to be dancing on stage. Kim Hyun Joong will be performing “Let me be the one” a ballad song instead. SS501’s album will be delayed for a while and will be released by early June instead. In the photo, Heechul and Luna are seen holding up peace signs, the typical Asian pose. Along with the picture, he also tweeted the following message:
As much as I adore Luna, I can’t tell who is the prettier one. In the past, Heechul uploaded a selca taken of himself with Sulli, Amber and Victoria. DSP Media said on the 18th, “Kim Hyun Joong was driving on the 12th and he had a friend with him when they crashed into another car. It’s been six years since YG Entertainment held open auditions in search of some new talents, and on the 18th, YG Entertainment opened up a new website made especially for those interested for auditions. Specifically, YG Entertainment is looking for the next Big Bang, and if you think you got the swagger and what it takes, visit their online audition site (www.yg-audition.com). The auditions will be held from the May 18th to June 22nd, and the company will be looking for talents in both Korea and America. There will be three audition categories: singing, acting and producing. Those who pass the first round of auditions will go on to the next round and hold a live audition. Recently, news came that members Yuri and Sunny will leave KBS 2TV Invincible Youth, and Jessica who was decided as fixed appearance on KBS 2TV Happy Birthday is known to have left the show. For Jessica's case, even thought she was initially decided as fixed appearance on the show, with the girls' upcoming overseas promotions in the 2nd half of this year, she will leave the show after only 4 episodes. With that, there is much interests as to whether the other members will also leave their current fixed appearances on various variety shows. Currently member YoonA is doing fixed appearance on SBS Family Outing 2, TaeYeon on KBS WinWin and SeoHyun on MBC We Got Married
On WinWin and We Got Married's side, it has also been revealed that there are no discussions about the girls leaving the show and the girls will continue to appear on the shows for the time being. Looking at the schedules of YoonA, TaeYeon and SeoHyun on these variety shows, we will be able to see them continue on the show all the way till July. But what will happen after that?
