Gossip : C-ute’s song plagiarized by K-Pop group?

K-Pop group Orange Caramel has released their debut mini album yesterday. Their title track is “Magic Girl”, a song which, to my ears, bears a striking resemblance to °C-ute’s “Hare no Platinum Doori”. That song, sung by members Nakajima Saki & Hagiwara Mai, was released two years ago on “3rd Love Escalation”.

The producing credit for “Magic Girl” is credited to Cho Young Soo, a famous composer in Korea who has done songs for 4minute, SeeYa, SG Wannabe, MC Mong, HyunA, and others. “Hare no Platinum Doori” was of course produced by Tsunku.

Orange Caramel is a new group, created from three members of the popular Korean group After School. Ironically, it was After School who sang the “Love Machine” remake Dream Girl, the theme song for the 2009 Korean Up-Front Agency audition TV show.

Check out the tracks here and judge for yourselves. Pay close attention to the chorus of the Orange Caramel song; it’s very similar to the chorus in the °C-ute song. Both songs repeat the chorus melody twice, and both songs raise an octave near the end of the song.

[News] Brown Eyed Girl "5th" member debuts as a solo singer

Known for her powerful vocals, new singer Yoari debuts!


In 2006, Yoari was actually the 5th member of female group Brown Eyed Girls. Despite her tender age, Yoari had garnered interest with her powerful vocals. But her agency NaeGa Network had felt that Yoari was more suited for rock music and had her in band Springkler.

But Springkler's activities ended early, and after that Brown Eyed Girls became more well known and established in the mainstream music market. It was hard for Yoari. It was known that she even sang the guide tracks for Brown Eyed Girls.

Yoari said, "Whenever I sang the guide tracks for Brown Eyed Girls, I felt really sad. But also thanks to that, I've learnt a lot too. And now I can debut as solo."


The solo debut song 'Excuse Me' is released on 18th June showcases Yoari's unique and powerful vocals well.

Rising actress Shin Se Kyung has enjoyed a romantic love line with BEAST's Doojoon in East Timor?

On an episode of SBS Sunday Sunday Night's Danbi planned to air on the 20th, Shin Se Kyung appears as a guest. During her stay, she showed special affection feelings for Doojoon who arrived a day later than everyone else. The special atmosphere observed between the two celebrities caused other Danbi members to be jealous towards Doojoon.

Particularly, while the Danbi team was decorating the school classrooms for the children in East Timor, Doojoon exclaimed, "There are stars in Sekyung's eyes." Shin Se Kyung, who appreciated the compliment, commented back, "There are stars in your hat too." Additionally, when theactress was asked what she liked about Doojoon, she replied, "I have always thought he had a wonderful personality."

This caused a bit of confusion for the Danbi staff members as they pondered over whether or not Shin Se Kyung really had feelings for Yoon Doojoon aside from the current love line on the show. Stay tuned on the 20th then!

"My Wife is a Superwoman" actress Kim Nam-joo has been named one of the top ten actors of Asia by China Entertainment TV (CETV), according to her agency Wellmade Star M on Thursday.

Wellmade Star M announced through a press release that the actress will be attending the award ceremony, to be held at Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center on June 19, as well as a press conference with some 100 Chinese media outlets.

"Kim Nam-joo is the only Korean to be selected as one of the top ten Asian actors, thanks to the popularity of 'My Wife is a Superwoman'," an associate at CETV was quoted as saying. "We are honored that she will be attending the event".

A handful of celebrities from the Greater China region will be attending the ceremony including Mike He, Rainie Yang, Wilber Pan, Ethan Ruan and Joseph Cheng, who is called the "Rain of Taiwan". Many pop stars including Ashin and Bang Bang Tang will also be performing at the event.

Celebrating its sixth anniversary, the Chinese broadcaster had asked viewers to cast votes for top ten actors in Asia. Fans' voting had taken place every year with stars from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan being awarded the title.

"My Wife is a Superwoman", about a 30-something woman who struggles to help her husband succeed, became one of the most-watched shows during its run early last year, topping Korea's TV ratings charts for three consecutive weeks.

Kim, 39, made a successful comeback by taking on "My Wife is a Superwoman", her first acting job since marrying actor Kim Seung-woo in 2005 and giving birth to a daughter.

Her comedic portrayal of a modern Korean housewife won her numerous accolades including being named 'Actor of the Year' by Korea's Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism last December.

She is currently shooting several television commercials and recently agreed to star in the second season of "My Wife is a Superwoman", tentatively titled "Queen of Tears".

"Queen of Tears" is scheduled to air in September after historical drama "Dong Yi" ends its run.

OMG~! Forgot we had to film 2 episodes today so I'm about to drop dead from a heat stroke and exhaustion.... ??? 2???????? ?? ?? ???... ??

Oh my. It must be hard for him to film 2 episodes in one day and maybe he haven't been sleeping well these days so thats why he feel like he's gonna die.
I guess korea's weather now must be really hot like most of our countries.
Lets just hope he drinks more water and rest well in order to perform his best in shows and programmes.

SS501 ends Love Ya promotions amidst uncertain future with contract expiry

There have been lots of rumors flying around recently about the future of SS501, especialy surrounding their contracts which had supposedly expired last week.

DSP Media has today issued a statement through SS501’s website to state their stand and put down speculation,

Hello everyone. This is DSP Media.

SS501 Love Ya promotions has ended with effect from last week, June 13th. It’s a pity for Triple S that promotions were so short.

It felt like only yesterday when SS501 debuted through KMTV Show! Music Tank on June 8th, 2005. It has already been five years~

Like what all Triple S knows, SS501 members’ contracts had expired on June 7th, 2010.

During our preparations for this album, we had discussed about the length of promotions considering the contract expiry date. So we decided to keep promotions to within 2 – 3 weeks.

The SS501 members have not reached a conclusion regarding their future with the company. So we cannot give an official stand at the moment. We will announce their future once it has been finalized to Triple S.

We will produce a MV for the song Let Me Be The One from their Destination album, with footage from SS501 activities. It will be released in the middle of next week. We will announce a specific date in due time.

We are sorry for the short promotions and we hope that Triple S can soothe their feelings a little by enjoying the sight of SS501 in their Let Me Be The One MV.

We are really grateful to Triple S for helping SS501 to win the K-Chart twice.
We thank everyone for the love and concern for their new album from the bottom of our hearts. We hope that you can continue to love them like usual~

Kim Hyun Joong is currently in the Phillipines for a solo performance at a local concert while reports coming out of Taiwan have indicated that not all SS501 members will travel to Taiwan, on June 26th for the 21st Golden Melody Awards. They had earlier said they will attend to present an award and perform.

Kim Hyun Joong’s representative has already indicated that he will not go. Park Jung Min and Kim Hyung Joon have verbally agreed to attend while Heo Yong Saeng and Kim Kyu Jong are still considering. All members are currently on a rolling contract to fulfil their SS501 duties until the end of the month.

Hallyu star and avid soccer fan kwon Sang-woo will be cheering on the Korean soccer team, who plays the Argentinians tonight in the 2010 World Cup games, with his son Rookie and other family members.

"I think he was planning to watch tonight's game with friends but I am not sure because he hasn't been feeling well recently", a source close to the actor told Asia Economic Daily over the phone. "For now, I was told that he was going to cheer for the game with his family".

He explained that Kwon "feels happy about watching the games with Rookie, talking and laughing with him", adding that watching the actor so happy with his one-year-old son "makes me envious".

The source also asked that people support Kwon's latest pic "71-Into the Fire", which opened at No. 1 in Korea yesterday by attracting 114,131 viewers, according to statistics released by the Korean Box Office System (KOBIS).

Kwon has starred in several notable television dramas and films including "My Tutor Friend" (2003) and "Love So Divine" (2004).

His most famous role to date however, was in the 2003 TV series "Stairway to Heaven", which co-starred another Hallyu star Choi Ji-woo and became a smash hit throughout Asia.

War drama "71-Into the Fire" is based on the true story of 71 student soldiers who fought during the Korean War, which marks its 60th anniversary this month.

Ranked 47th on FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association), the Korean soccer team surprised the world last Saturday by defeating Greece, ranked 17th, 2-0 in their first match of the World Cup.

In our time zone on the 16th at 8:20 AM, Beast is gaining popularity in leaving for the Philippines.

Yesterday afternoon, Beast was greeted by many reporters and fans as they even held a fansigning once arriving in Manila. In wanting to see Beast, the word was that fans overcrowded the area of the fansigning. Beast will be staying in the Philippines for 4 days of holding performances for their promotions along with different interviews as they will meet with their fans in the Philippines.

Beast's company, Cube Entertainment, held a video conference on the 11th as they revealed their plans of overseas promotions to the media of Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong, and Thailand, marking 6 countries in total. [news] Bae Yong-joon to make donation for Japanese project

Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon will take part in a Japanese project to help out the future of children in Asia, according to his agency KEYEAST on Thursday.
KEYEAST announced in a press release that Bae has decided on taking part in the philanthropic "Miso Project" which has been established by Japan's DATV (Digital Adventure TV).

The "Miso Project" is a contribution-based philanthropy project in charge of taking care of the future of the children in Asia. With the help of nonprofit organization KnK (Kokkyo naki Kodomotachi), they will donate the money to the underprivileged children in Cambodia and the Philippines.

Bae will participate in the various events and programs that DATV has planned for the "Miso Project". An mega-event is scheduled to take place in the Japan's Tokyo Dome in December with other famous Asian stars in attendance.

"Bae Yong-joon has set long-term plans in taking part of the 'Miso Project'. He has shown great interest and wants to become active for this project", explained a representative from KEYEAST.

The actor has made many donations in the past to various organizations in Asia such as donating 300 million won to the tsunami victims in 2005 as well as shooting an environment-themed photo spread and delivered the funds raised from the shoot to the UNEP committee.

Bae, 37, rose to mega-stardom in Korea and throughout Asia with the 2002 KBS hit series "Winter Sonata".

He has also been actively promoting Korean culture in Asia, publishing a photo essay titled "Discovering the Beauty of Korea" last year, which features self-taken photographs of various cultural artisans that the actor met during his year-long travel around the country.

He recently finished lending his voice to the Japanese animation "Winter Sonata~Another Story~" in Japan.

DSP apologized because of the short promotion of SS501 album Destination. But Triple S will be very happy because DSP will release a special music video of Let Me Be The One.

Here is the DSP message:
Hello this is DSP.

SS501's promotional activities for 'LOVE YA' has had ended its
run last week on the 13th June. Due to this short promotional period,
we know that fans would surely be feeling very overwhelmed with sadness.
SS501 had debuted on June 8, 2005 through KMTV's Music Bank,
and so soon, it's already been 5 years that's flowed by~

SS501's contract validation period, as all of you should know,
has ended on June 7, 2010.

While preparing for this time's album and carrying out activities
with every member, we had already carried out discussions with one
another. In consideration of their expiry of contract, we had decided
for their 'Love Ya' promotional period to last for only about 2~3 weeks.

May it be SS501 or may it be us, none of us is certain or clear
about the future moves, and because of that,

Hallyu star Lee Jun-ki is reportedly having a hard time adjusting to life in the army, according to fellow actor Jae-hee who was discharged from the military today.

Speaking to a group of reporters after being discharged from Korea's Defense Media Agency on Friday morning, Jae-hee said that he met Lee "just once."

"He seems to be having a very hard time right now," said the actor. "He just entered the military and time will take care of it. He may feel awkward about the short hair and much-tanned skin but the day will come when he gets discharged."

Over a hundred fans from Korea, China and Japan showed up to see Jae-hee return to the outside world after spending two years in the military as part of fulfilling Korea's mandatory army duties.

Jae-hee, whose real name is Lee Hyun-kyoon, initially gained fame after starring in the campus drama "School" (KBS2, 2000).

He is best-known for his role as Lee Mong-ryong in the hit TV series "Delightful Girl Choon-hyang" (KBS2, 2005), which co-starred top Korean actress Han Chae-young and became a huge hit throughout Asia.

Lee Jun-ki, who shot to fame after starring in the 2005 hit film "The King and the Clown," entered the military on May 3 after he was notified by the government to report to the military.

At the time, he tried to defer his entrance date in order to finish up the shootings for film "Grand Prix" and upcoming blockbuster TV series "Faith," but eventually pulled out from both projects when he was unable to do so.

Last week, it was reported that Lee had completed the five-week basic training course with flying colors, being chosen as one of the four officers out of some 900 soldiers to receive an award from the head of the military training camp.

He has been assigned to Korea's Defense Media Agency where he will carry out various promotional activities such as hosting military television shows and radio programs and visiting Korean soldiers serving at the front and rear lines of the military zone.

(CNA Reporter Cai Xin Hua, Taipei, 17th reports) Korean idol group Super Junior's sub-group Super Junior-M, was nominated for the "Best Group" award in this year's Golden Melody Awards with their mini album "Super Girl", however due to their recent hectic schedule with promotions of their latest album, has confirmed that they are unable to attend the Golden Melody Awards.

Ever since the release of the nominations till now, many fans were concerned over whether SJ-M would attend the Golden Melody Awards that is to be held on the 26th; but their record company Avex expressed today that 4 members of SJ-M have a tight schedule with their main group SJ's new album "BONAMANA" promotions, hence confirming that they are unable to attend the ceremony in person.


Releasing their first mini album "SUPER GIRL", SJ-M has received affirmation in the Golden Melody Award with the nomination, they expressed that they are filled with gratitute towards this (nomination). To break into the Chinese music scene, SJ-M has spent two years learning Mandarin, practicing their Mandarin pronunciation; for their Chinese album to be nominated has greatly increased their confidence.

Park Jaebeom was spotted wearing a white beanie when he arrived in South Korea today last 5:50 pm KST in Incheon International airport.

Due to a controversy, He left South Korea September last year, where he voluntarily left South Korea and 2pm and left for the States in Seattle, 9 months later, he arrived in South Korea on the 18th where over 1,000 fans welcomed him in the airport.

Last Year, he was seen wearing a white shirt and a white beanie when he departed from the airport to Seattle, and fans spotted that the beanie he wore when he arrived today was similar to the one he wore 9 months ago.

Wearing the same beanie on two different expressions, fans spotted that he wore the same beanie when he departed Korea and when he arrived today.

Jay was surrounded by over 30 bodyguards, controlling the fans gathered at the airport and his face couldn't even be seen properly by the bodyguards surrounding him.

Narsha of the Brown Eyed Girls has been working hard on preparations for her solo debut, which will take place in July; her most recent accomplishment on this project was finishing music video shootings on the 16th of June. Right after finishing this at 7AM on that day, she ran straight to a recording for Invincible Youth, which should give you an idea of exactly how much pressure she's been under lately to bring her fans some great tracks.

However, what's even more intriguing about Narsha's progress is the amount of money spent on creating her music video. While most artists waste an average of 20 to 30 thousand won on their music videos (and very rarely ever exceed having excess spent money reach a total of 50 thousand won), representatives revealed that they had spent a whopping total of 10 million won on the video alone! Because they spent so much, the people working with Narsha are afraid that they won't earn much money in return. However, because of the extra hard work and effort their idol has been putting in for them, the producers have been more than happy in helping her "come out with good songs and music videos" regardless of the cost.

In return for the enormous effort and money placed into her solo debut for your enjoyment, Narsha asks that you "please look forward to the album," especially since she's the "first member [of Brown Eyed Girls] to solo debut." !

Ninomiya Kazunari had turned 27 years old yesterday and all the fans were celebrating it with posting up his scans from magazines and video clips in blogs and Live journal. Even it is an old video clip, but it's never too late for Ninomiya Kazunari.
He was borned in 17th June 1983 and he had joined Johnny's Association on 19th June 1996.
His first job was being the background dancer for Kinki Kids performance (MS 1996-06-19)
He will be appearing in the Live Action Film: Ooku in 1st October 2010 and Gantz will be in Japan's theater on spring 2011.

Live action film Ooku : The Inner Chamber/ Ooku will be in Japan's theater on the 1st October 2010. This live action film is basically an adaptation from a manga that wins the grand prize for Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize 2009. The writer of manga, Fuminori Kaneko tells a story about the critical situations that happens on the edo century of alternative universe Japan that faced decreasing of male populations due to a wave of rare disease. Thus, all the positions that had been hold by men is been toppled by the women including the role of Shogun and also the dwellers of the Ooku. The development started when Shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune making an extreme changes in order to cure and stabilize Japan's economy.

This film had cost almost ¥1 billion( ~ RM 36 juta). In the film, it includes the earlier 5 series of the manga. Ooku film had lined up 2 famous Japanese actor and actress.
Starring Ninomiya Kazunari as Mizuno Yunoshin and Kou Shibasaki as Shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune.
Fuminori Kaneko, a director best known for the live-action Kisarazu Cat’s Eye and Ikebukuro West Gate Park television series, is overseeing the ?oku film project. Natsuko Takahashi scripted the animated television version of another Yoshinaga work, Antique Bakery, before tackling this project.


GANTZ : Ninomiya Kazunari and Matsuyama Kennichi will be cast in the popular comic "GANTZ" film. This film will have 2 parts and total production costs up to 4 billion yen. Shinsuke Sato, the director announced that the first part will be in spring 2011.

Ninomiya Kazunari who is also one of the members of Arashi will release their new single called 'To Be Free' on July 7 2010. This single will be the 31st from Arashi. The 30th single is Monster which is the OST for spring drama Kaibutsu-kun starring Ohno Satoshi (Arashi).

Leeteuk is in Danger?

Is anyone in Super Junior ever going to be able to sleep in peace?  Nap time for the boys has been getting perilous lately, since idols are just so well rested then can afford to play games.  After waging a water war on anyone caught sleeping outside their own bed, SuJu decided to up the ante!  They tweeted a picture of Leeteuk sleeping peacefully with Shindong hovering over, contemplating his next move.  Fans left a ton of messages warning Leeteuk to watch out, but they really shouldn’t worry as he is probably too terrified now to ever fall asleep again.

Jo Kwon the thief?

Recently, a picture of 2AM’s lovable member Jo Kwon secretly holding up a frozen dumpling bag was revealed to the public.

On the 18th, a celebrity-based Internet site posted this Jo Kwon picture and wrote as the title, “Jo Kwon who buys dumplings at a convenience store.” In the picture, the singer is specifically shown smiling widely and holding up a bag of frozen dumplings near the freezer in the frozen instant food department.

He especially showed his cuteness by putting up his hoodie as a cover-up just in case anyone realized his identity.

Netizens who viewed this Jo Kwon picture commented positively with, “He seems like one of those average boys who steal something secretly,” “The fact that he realized someone might recognize him and thus putting on a hoodie is really cute” and “He tried hiding himself, but it looks like everyone will recognize who he is.”

Kangin enlists

Super Junior’s Kangin will enter into his military service on July 5th and is scheduled to check in at the Nonsan Army Training Center in Chungnam.  He will also be entering the army as an ‘active duty’ soldier.  Most celebrity soldiers choose to fulfill their duty through ‘public service’ which is less physically demanding and time consuming.

Kangin had been suspended from all his activities after getting in trouble at the end of last year.  In September he got into a fist fight and then in October he got into a drunk driving hit-and-run.  He had made a surprise appearance at a May Super Junior fan meet and informed fans of his decision to enlist.  Kangin is 26 (Korean, born 1/17/1985) so he would have had to enlist within the next few years anyway.  He appeared to have been spinning out of control towards the end of last year, hopefully he will mature in the army and come back a better and stronger Kangin.

Best of luck to Kangin, serve your country proud.

U-Kiss landed in Malaysia yesterday, they made a guesting on 98.8 FM (Radio) at night and here they are today in Sunway Lagoon ! It looks like the boys are having some fun time in Malaysia! They were there from 10 am - 3pm to shoot for a cable channel show!.

Hyori hits Bali

Lee Hyori did a swimsuit photo shoot for Cosmopolitan on a black sand beach in Bali.  In typical Hyori fashion the pics are hot and it was reported that even the staff were impressed with how fit and sexy Hyori looked in the shoot.  Check out a couple of pics that were released.

It was also reported that the photo shoot staff were impressed with how well Hyori pulled off a simple swimsuit concept shoot with her physicality and sexy charisma.  Well, duh…  they don’t call her the Queen of Kpop for nothing.  It was surprising for me to see that Bali has a black sand beach, I only knew of the ones on the Big Island of Hawaii, but apparently although the ones in Hawaii are probably the best known, there are some all over the world.

Hyori’s full photo shoot will be in the July issue of Cosmopolitan.

Hallyudorama was able to drop by Broadway Centrum today to see Kim Hyun Joong in the flesh. I'll try my best to give you the details since the experience was a bit of a blur to me.

This morning Hannebuff and I were given permission by our wonderful bosses to see Hyun Joong and give in to our inner fangirl. And so I packed my bag and brought one of my BOF albums with me, just in case we're allowed to get his autograph

SS501 wins Music Bank K-Chart for the second consecutive week

As we fast forward to another brand new episode of Music Bank on June 18th, it was the same two groups for the K-Chart as the Wonder Girls went up against SS501.

And just like last week, it was the SS501 boys who came out on top as they obtained 9,787 points as compared to 7,881 points for the Wonder Girls to claim K-Chart for the second consecutive week. Neither groups were present tonight due to other commitments. Congratulations to the boys!

Stay tuned to the June 25th episode of Music Bank as they will have a mid-year special and a list of artists currently on hiatus like 2AM, 2PM, SNSD, T-ara, KARA and many more will make a special one-night only performance.

CNBLUE shows some Love on Music Bank

Though talented boy band CNBLUE came short last night in defeating 4minute at M! Countdown, the boys are back on Music Bank to try and prove who’s really boss.
