Posted: 19 Jul 2010 08:30 PM PDT

This is a guest post from one of our Kpop Insider Club Members

Try to check on the video clip of famous singers or Hearing kpop group members today youtube:)

In my own point of view ..
Of course, that you are accepted,
1. you need to sing and dance as large as those of Korean idol groups today ..

2. You must also have very nice and most importantly, a good attitude and perseverance.

3. Of course, you enter the Korean industry .. pop and you must be good at speaking Korean .. much better if you know other languages like English in particular, Chinese, Japanese. For example, U-KISS Xander does not speak Korean very well because he grew up in other countries, but he knows seven languages, .. which is a factor for him .. Knowing lots of language.

4. Well anyway be linguistic case does not work more. As long as you have talent .. go!

5. And oh, one more thing you need to enter the industry Kpop is the charisma. Kpop idols are known for their broad appeal and charisma! so you must have:)

Just look at the performance and listen to clips kpop big stars now in youtube, they have many. and see how they have been accepted. Anyway, it would be better if you hear all the management of three of these great kpop? Business – SM Ent, Ent JYP, YG Ent:)))

Here are some excerpts hearing KPOP I found:)
Wonder Girls Sun Ye:) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3S5-XIczN …
Taemin SHINee! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AqpxbyLi soo cute;) …
KEY SHINee! :) ) Http: / / www.youtube.com/watch?v=NG5YbdO1c …

Waa they were so great .. and more! : DDD
hahaha try to find other;)

>>>>>>> And when you’ve already become a star .. kpop
Be ready to fangirl! or Fanboys! we’ll be crazy bout you! and we fear loan-to-kill-you-if-you-touch-him FANS! hahaha .. Ok seriously, several members of the Korean groups stay in a dorm or a house. They have a contract. Sometimes, most of them are not allowed to have girlfriends and buddies under the contract. Well, expect that you will be really famous among the community kpop!

Well regarding the studies, of course you need to know the Korean language, or at least know how the conversation .. Korean, which means that you CAN talk to a Korean. Can we really speak of a language with Korean Korean right? Well, if yes .. good for you. But if youre just not good enough. You can take courses Korean there. Some members of the Korean group are also not fluent in Korean, because they were born / grew / study / work in another country. Well, the stars are regular kpop always able to go to school. Most of them are already graduates. Many of them got to the school to their popularity! As SHINee Minho others .. etc. etc. are currently under study if HAV hectic schedules, activities, concerts and tours.

The Impact of Jpop

Posted: 18 Jul 2010 08:24 PM PDT

J-pop is an integral part of Japanese popular culture, be found in cartoons, commercials, TV shows, movies, video games and other forms of J-ENT. Some television news programs even run a J-pop song during their end credits. In the anime and television shows, including dramas, opening and closing songs are changed up to four times a year. Because most programs have a combination of both opening and closing songs, it is possible for a show to use eight tracks for a single season.

Over the past decade, J-pop has steadily gained fans worldwide through video games and anime. Many video game fans to import games from Japan, well before they are released in their respective countries. The theme songs and soundtracks of the games and anime can be a gateway to more interest in the kinds of J-pop and other Japanese music. An example of this can be found in the games Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II, in which popular J-pop singer Utada Hikaru performs the theme songs. His single “Easy Breezy” was also used to promote the Nintendo DS. The Ouendan series and Brothers Band for DS both function of many songs from J-Pop. In the case of the anime shows are usually sold in the West with their original soundtracks intact, offering a more direct exposure (but not always the case, leaving fans shocked). Some shows aired on television in the United States, for example, have seen their themes go so far as to become commercially available as ringtones by incumbents in this country.

With the changing trends of music in India and Bangladesh, J-pop has gained ground. Although the J-pop listeners are usually the younger generation in Asia, just like Love Utada Hikaru “First” and “Flavor of Life” have succeeded in increasing the interest of J-pop in the older generation too. After the channel Animax has been introduced, knowledge and popularity of J-Pop spread among youth in Asia.

Pop duo Puffy, a Japanese acts who have put their equipment on the market of the United States, had their own animated series on Cartoon Network, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, which premiered in 2004 and lasted three seasons. Before that, the duo had recorded the theme song to the other comics of the same channel, Teen Titans. Due to the success of their show clips Puffy, who are known as Puffy AmiYumi in the U.S. have repeatedly shown during programming of the channel.

What is Jpop?

Posted: 17 Jul 2010 08:23 PM PDT

J-pop (also J-POP), an abbreviation of Japanese pop, is a loosely defined musical genre that became the musical trend of Japan in the 1990s. J-modern pop has its roots in the music of the 1960s such as The Beatles and replaced kay?kyoku (Japanese pop music until 1980) in the Japanese music scene. It was invented by the Japanese media to distinguish Japanese music of foreign music and now refers to most of the popular Japanese music. According to 2006 data from the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, Japan has the second largest market for recorded music in the world behind the United States.

The origin of the modern J-pop is said to be the Japanese rock inspired by The Beatles. Kay?kyoku Unlike the Japanese genre of music called J-pop uses a particular type of pronunciation, which is similar to the English language. Singer to do is remarkable Keisuke Kuwata, who gave the Japanese word “Karada (body)” kyerada. Moreover, unlike Western music, the second major (and soil) was not commonly used in Japanese music, except the art of music before rock music became popular in Japan. When Group Sounds (which was inspired by Western rock) became popular, however, the Japanese pop music has adopted the second key that was used in the final sounds of the Beatles song “I Want to Hold Your Hand” and Song of the Rolling Stones (I Can not Get No) Satisfaction “. Although the Japanese pop music has changed the music based on a pentatonic Japanese tetrachord distortion of Western music over the course of time, the music that the traditional Japanese singing style has remained popular, such as that Ringo Shiina.

Initially, the term “J-Pop” was used only for Western-style musicians in Japan as Pizzicato Five and Flipper’s Guitar broadcast just after the Japanese J-Wave was created. However, the term has become a generic term covering other genres like the majority of Japanese rock music of the 1990s.

Tower Records Japan J-pop that defined the entire Japanese music belonging to the Recording Industry Association of Japan, except the Japanese indie music (also known as “J-indie”) in 1990, but began to use the classification more sentimental, like J-club, J-Punk, J-hip-hop, reggae-J, J-anime, Johnny and Visual in 2008 after a few indie musicians released their works to the majors. Music City Ito, a Japanese CD stores, has adopted a classification for the broader group Sons, idol of the 70s-80s, Enka, folk and established musicians of the 70s-80s, most major genres of J-pop.

Whereas rock musicians in Japan in general hate the word “pop”, Taro Kato, a member of the pop punk band Beat Crusaders, said that pop music encoded as pop art was more catchy J-pop and he also said that “J-pop” was the POP (????, poppusu?) music to recall being aired repeatedly in an interview where they completed their first full length album under a major label, BPA Pop to the arrival in 2005. Because the band did not perform the “J-pop, their music featured on the album of the 80s Pop MTV. Another member Toru Hidaka, music of the 1990s for his influential (Nirvana, Hi-Standard and Flipper’s Guitar) has not been heard by fans of other music in Japan at that time.

Contrary to this, although many rock musicians in Japan until the late 1980s without respect for music kay?kyoku, many Japanese rock bands of the 1990s such as Glay kay?kyoku assimilated into their music. After the late 1980s, breakbeat sampler and also changed the Japanese music scene, where the drummers of experts had played a good pace because traditional Japanese music did not have the rhythm-based rock and blues.

However, Hide Greeeen openly described their kind of music as “J-pop. He said:” I also like rock, hip hop and breakbeat, but my domain is still J-pop. For example, hip-hop musicians learn “the culture of hip-hop when they start their careers. We’re not like those of musicians and we like the music sounds like a lot. These professional people can say:” What are you doing? but I think our musical style is cool, after all. The good thing is good. “

What Is kpop?

Posted: 16 Jul 2010 08:09 PM PDT

K-pop is an abbreviation for Korean pop music (also referred to as Kayo or Gayo music), specifically from South Korea. Many of these artists and musical groups have branched out of South Korea and have become popular in many countries around the world. The popularity of K-pop is often considered a part of the rise of the Korean Wave, the recent surge of popularity of contemporary South Korean culture in Asia.

Modern Korean popular music first appeared in the 1930s. In the 1950s and 1960s, the musical performances organized by U.S. forces in and around the American military bases in South Korea provided South Koreans with examples of other modern music.

The South Korean pop music scene soon had several genres: Boy or girl bands whose appeal lay mostly in their appearance; a technically difficult, older genre that had its roots in the colonial period and was popular with older Koreans; and the often amateur acoustic guitar singer-songwriters, who became popular in the 1960s and sang in a simple vocal style. In 1970s, rock music was introduced into South Korea, mainly popularized by Cho Yong Pil. Trot, pop music inspired by Japanese-styled music, also became a main genre in pop music.

The debut of the group Seo Taiji and Boys in 1992 marked a turning point in South Korean popular music, as the group incorporated elements of American popular musical genres such as rap, rock, and techno into its music, which brought a decrease in the popularity of trot. The tremendous success of Seo Taiji and Boys in South Korea and other experimental groups, such as Panic, set the trend for the present generation of K-pop groups and artists. Dance-oriented acts became dominant in the South Korean popular music scene of the early 90s including the legendary hip hop duo Deux. The mid-90′s marked the emergence of teen idol groups, creating a different trend in the music scenes. Groups such as H.O.T., Sechs Kies, Shinhwa, S.E.S., g.o.d. and Fin.K.L became extremely popular, having strong fanbases and high-selling albums (with some groups having a “million seller”, an album selling over one million copies). Starting with the break-up of Sechs Kies in 2000, however, most of these groups have since disbanded. Although some artists have continued their successes in the following decade, new groups have since taken their places.

Currently, in the 2000s, pop groups are still very popular although there has been an emergence of South Korean R&B and Hip-Hop: artists such as MC Mong, 1TYM, Jinusean, and Epik High have proven successful. Underground artists such as Drunken Tiger, Tasha (Yoon Mi Rae) have also helped hip-Hop become mainstream. Recently, rock music has become noticed by the public, with acts such as the Yoon Do Hyun Band and Seo Taiji gaining national recognition. In addition, there are also popular techno/dance artists such as Lee Jung Hyun, Kim Hyun Jung, and Yoo Seung Jun, whom all had very long careers while remaining firmly entrenched in their genre of music. Just as well, ballads and R&B have remained popular, as singers such as Baek Ji Young and KCM, in addition to SG Wannabe, have continued their success for many years.

There are also many artists who have had international success as well. BoA has become the highest-selling international artist from South Korea, due to her strength in the J-pop market[citation needed]; this was in part due to Lee Soo Man’s adaptation of the Blue Ocean Strategy. Since then, artists such as Rain and Se7en have also released albums outside of South Korea, becoming well-known throughout Eastern Asia. Rain has also had his international Rainy Day 2005 Tour, having tour dates at Madison Square Garden, the first South Korean star to do so. He has been recently featured two Hollywood films, Speed Racer and Ninja Assassin. He was also voted “Your #1 Influential Person in the World 2007″ by a TIME Magazine online survey.

Kim Bum Soo is the first South Korean artist to reach the U.S. Billboard chart and ranked as 51 on the Hot 100 chart in 2001.[citation needed] After that, solo female artist, mink and Korean-American group, S.Blush also reached the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play charts, where they ranked #1 in 2006 and #2 in 2007 respectively. Skull, a Korean reggae artist from YG Entertainment also ranked as #3 on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales and #14 Hot Singles Sales in 2007. Se7en who is also from YG Entertainment, BoA from SM Entertainment and Rain from JYP Entertainment are all currently concentrating on their U.S. debuts. Although Wonder Girls became first K-pop artist to have a song reach the Billboard Hot 100, there has yet to be a prominent, successful K-pop artist in the American music industry

K-pop is similar to American pop music, with R&B, dance, and hip-hop being very popular genres in the 2000s. However, unlike American pop music, which had most of its boy bands and girl groups either break up or informally disband, bubblegum pop is still very popular in South Korea. Groups such as TVXQ,Big Bang, Super Junior, Wonder Girls, SS501, Girls’ Generation, 2PM and continue to be top sellers in K-pop, and artists like Ahyoomee and LPG have released novelty songs, to varying degrees of success. However, the 2000s has seen the rise of R&B vocal groups, such as SG Wannabe, Davichi and SeeYa having success with their albums. Ballads are also very popular, as 2006 has seen the release of ballad singles by non-ballad artists, including Shinhwa and Baek Ji Young. In addition, trot music has made a comeback in mainstream K-pop as well, mostly due to the success of Jang Yoon Jung and Park Hyun Bin. The year 2007 was marked with the release of numerous girl and boy bands, though only a few managed to top the charts. Despite new bands debuting, physical sales for CDs have become increasingly low, due to the stagnation of the K-pop industry. The highest selling album of 2007 did not even reach the 200,000 mark with only 190,998 copies sold.

The beginning of 2008 saw the rise of electronica dominance in the K-pop scene, influenced by the release of Big Bang’s mini-album Always, which heavily featured the genre.Other artists also followed the trend, such as Jewelry for their song “One More Time” and Brown Eyed Girls for “L.O.V.E.” Even artists that release music in other genres have released electronica-influenced albums to suit the current trends, including Epik High, Gummy, Clazziquai, and Lee Seung-cheol.

Girl’s Day Releases Tilt My Head Video

Posted: 06 Jul 2010 01:05 PM PDT

Good video with some cute robots.

This is a catchy video for a noob group. Perhaps we will see some better work from them in the future. My main problem with this video is that you can’t tell if they are actually sinnging well or not due to the autotune.

Don’t get me wrong, autotune is cool if you want to sound like T-Pain. However, it should not dominiate the song.

Take a look at the video and let me know what you think.

missA Debut on TVN’s Newton

Posted: 06 Jul 2010 05:31 AM PDT

missA

This is exactly what we need, another kpop girl group that is produced by JYP.

I have to admit, thier song “Good Girl Bad Girl” is quite catchy. We should see much more of them in the near future as they make thier rounds to the rest of the music shows, drama’s, variety shows… and all of the commercials that the kpop idols do.

If you take a look at the picture on the left you can see thier interesting fashion choice. I personally dig the pink hair that Jia is sporting. It actually suits her for some reason…

If youwant to learn more about missA you can check out thier Daum Fan Cafe at http://cafe.daum.net/missA.

Here is a funny video introduction by Jia and her pink goodness. Is it just me or is the girl in the background humping a doggy bed?

You can be the judge of that…

Here is thier performance from TVN

Kpop-Jpop.com is #1 on Google!

Posted: 05 Jul 2010 03:00 PM PDT

Thank you to everyone who has made this possible. Today Kpop-Jpop.com has placed at the top of Google’s search results for the lucrative keyword KPOP for the Canadian search results. This may not stay the same for tomorrow… however we will take what we can get. Placing above allkpop is not an easy task.

Now all we need to do is rank the same on the US google search results. That will be difficult since we are focused on the Canadian market. We will try though!

We are going to work on reducing the amount of advertisements that we currently run on Kpop-Jpop.com. This is easier said than done since it is all being run out of pocket right now.

Kpop-Jpop.com is mainly supported by our affiliate program with Yesasia and Yesstyle. Alternatively we are also funded with google adsense ads which you can see in the right sidebar.

We have removed adbrite as they are too intrusive… and they are not worth it for the most part.

Kpop-Jpop.com doesn’t make the kind of advertising revenue that some of the other kpop sites do. However, we have been around since 2005 and were formed by members from Nanokiero (who here remembers them?).

We will do our best to bring you better content, fewer commercials, better contests (through the insider club), and the best information that we can develope.

If you want to help us here is are ways to do it:

  • Write articles for us (you will be credited)
  • link to us
  • digg our stories
  • comment our articles
  • share our articles
  • retweet our tweets

We appreciate anythign and everythign that our readers do!

Thank you for a great 5 years ok Kpop-Jpop.com!

[news] Eugene juggles drama role with cable show

Posted: 03 Jun 2010 10:39 AM PDT

Eugene has a drama about to premiere (KBS's Baker Kim Tak-gu starring Yoon Shi-yoon) but now she's adding a cable program to her schedule; she has been chosen to host style network O'live's new program Get It Beauty, which is currently in the works and will overlap with her acting gig. The drama begins in June, and the cable show in July.

Eugene seems a logical choice for the beauty program, which will feature skincare and makeup tips, as she recently put out her own beauty book. She also hosted a previous program on O'live, Eugene's Makeup Diary, which was popular with viewers.

I'm not that interested in the cable program, but I do wonder how Eugene is going to manage two shows at the same time — Baker King Kim Tak-gu premieres next week. As it is being planned for approximately 30 episodes, she'll be busy acting in it well through the summer and into fall. There have been a handful of stars who have hosted cable or variety programs while doing television dramas, but that just seems crazy, since doing one drama is enough to overwork some stars into exhaustion.

Baker Kim Tak-gu will replace Cinderella's Sister and starts on June 9.

[News] Kim HeeChul expresses interests for SoHee once again, “Her overwhelming interests”

Posted: 03 Jun 2010 10:38 AM PDT

Kim HeeChul has once again expressed interests for WonderGirls SoHee.

Kim HeeChul was on MBC FM4U '2pm Date with Park MyungSoo' when he was asked, "Is there anyone whom you are interested in?". His answer was, "I don't like it that when people are asked such a question they answer that they like everyone. I like being honest. I like female singers like 4Minute, Secret and After School – those who have the cutesy image lately. Awhile ago, WonderGirls returned to Korea and I saw SoHee. She is really someone whose cuteness is just overwhelming. Usually I'm someone who is alright with most females, but SoHee is just really cute."

Already before this, Kim HeeChul had expressed his interests for SoHee on different variety shows like SBS Family Outing and MBC Come To Play.

Netizens' comments are "SoHeeChul is just compatible. It's good if they date", "He really only like her as a fan?", "It seems that he really likes her. Cute" etc.
